Accourding to statistics cited in the National Language Commission's 2006 Report on Linguistic Situation in China, ther are some 500 frequently used Chinese characters that make up 80 percent of the everyday vocabulary for such media as newspaper, radio and television broadcasting and the internet. This set of playing cards ar intended to help learners memorize these 500 Chinese words and master the way they are pronounced and written, and deepen their understanding of these words by means of word grouping, translation and displaying their unsimplified forms. Multimedia software is provided as well to serve the purpose. In short, these playing cards come in handy to make learning the Chinese language a delightful experience.
